BEEF PRICES FIRMER (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. June 12. The entry of fat sheep at Addington to-day was'6ooo. It contained the largest showing of wethers for some time, and included several lines of exceptionally good sheep from Southland. The quality generally was good. The sale was a haru one. Values remained about on a par with those of last week in the earlier stages, with best ewes a trifle dearer. Later there was a pronounced decline, with values all round back by fully Is a head on the opening rates. Competition was keen, and values were better by 3s to 4s for all classes Choppers were again in heavy supply, but prices rose by £l.
