Holland, who has just completed a tour of Otago and Southland, said this morning that there was no shortage of candidates for the National Party, and in some South Island constituencies as many as eight had offered to stand, many of them ex-servicemen. A remarkable feature of the present situation, he added, was the intense interest being shown by womenfolk, who would undoubtedly play an important part in the coming election.
