On rain-sodden courts which placed the visitors, who are mostly hard-gourt . players, at a serious disadvantage, the ' Canterbury women’s lawn tennis team gained a lead of five matches to one against Otago to-day. Canterbury is defending the Nunneley casket at Wilding Park for the second time since winning it from Wellington last month. Results: Singles.—Mrs K. Hart (Canterbury) beat 'Miss M.
