ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
FALL THROUGH ROOF ACCIDENT AT LINSEED WORKS Extensive injuries were suffered by William Milne, aged 33 years, of 529 Cargill road, when he fell through a roof while working yesterday on the construction of the new linseed ou factory of Dominion Industries, Ltd. The injured man was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital, at 2.10 p.m. with a fractured femur, a fractured left wrist, and facial abrasions. He was apparently working in company with two other men on the roof of a room on the northern end of the building, and was in the act of stepping to a lower level when a portion of the roof, composed of durock plasterboard, collapsed, and he fell to a concrete floor below, a distance of about 3C feet. If it had not been for a wooden crate, which arrested the force of his fall, Mr Milne’s injuries might well have proved even more serious. ’ His condition last night was reported to be fairly good.
