MOUNTING TENSION
U.S.A. AND ARGENTINA OPEN BREAK POSSIBLE * WASHINGTON, (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) Feb. 14. The Herald-Tribune’s Washington correspondent says a formal rupture of diplomatic relations between the United States and Argentina appears possible, as tension has mounted over the revelations in the Blue Book. Some observers believe it remains now only for the Argentine Government to announce an open break. Latin American diplomatic correspondents consider any offi'ial interAmerican action regarding Argentina will be deferred until after the elections on February 24. Advocates of deferment hope that the Democratic candidate, Senor Tamborini, will defeat Colonel Peron, then clean up the continued collaboration with the remnants of the German Nazi machine. Officials said that further evidence is still being received from Germany bearing out the general thesis of yesterday’s Blue Book, but a line had to be drawn somewhere to close the volume for publication.
