OBITUARY
MR THOMAS GILLESPIE The death occurred recently at Hastings as the result of an accident of Mr Thomas Gillespie, second': son of the late Mr George Gillespie, one of the early pioneers of the Upper Owaka district. After leaving school Mr Gillespie worked for some years on his father's farm, and later he was employed on several estates in the Clutha and Hawke’s Bay districts. In 1920 he purchased a sheep farm at Puketapu. where he was considered an outstanding figure among stock. After selling his farm Mr Gillespie ’ retired and lived at Hastings. In 1930 Mr Gillespie married Miss Mary Gray, of Stirling, Scotland, who survives him.
