AUSTRALIAN MINISTER

VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 14. The Acting Prime Minister, Mr W. Nash, announced to-day that at the Government’s invitation Mr E. Ward, Minister of External Territories and Minister of Transport in Australia, would pay a visit to New Zealand this month. The main purpose was to discuss informally with the members of the Government various questions of mutual interest relating to the welfare of native peoples in Pacific territories. Mr Ward also proposed to take the opportunity of discussing transport matters. He would arrive in Auckland on February 16 and proceed to Wellington by car. He was expected to remain in New Zealand for 10 days.
