EARNEST OF FRENCH INTENTIONS
(Rec 10.10 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 13. The General Assembly of the United Nations Organisation to-day considered the question of the participation of women in the United Nations Conference. France had submitted to the General Committee a request for the inclusion on the agenda of a proposal to this effect. The United States representative, Mrs Roosevelt, said: “We call on Governments everywhere to encourage women to participate in national and international affairs.” The committee, however, decided it would be inadvisable that the General Assembly should undertake to make any definite recommendation to delegations regarding their composition.
