N.Z. HOMESERVICEMEN’S ASSOCIATION

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The fortnightly meeting of the Executive of the Dunedin branch of the New Zealand Home Servicemen’s Association was held last night. Mr S. B. Butler occupied the chair, and there were also present:—Messrs R. M. Wilkie, H. B. Murray, A. W. Torrance, A. D. Healy, W. Townsend, E. F. Lenz, H. Whitehead, and H. McMullan. Ten new applications for membership were approved and one transfer in was received. A list of unfinancial members for the current year was 'submitted to the meeting, and it was decided that as they had not responded to the request for payment, they would be struck off the roll of membership and their badges recalled. A letter from Mr Brough advised that arrangements had been completed for a meeting in the Owaka district for the purpose of forming a subbranch. The secretary was instructed to proceed with the necessary advertising. A circular from Headquarters advised that the district vice-president, and the Dominion secretary would be making a tour of the branches and would be in Dunedin on Friday, March 15. Mr Healy submitted a comprehensive report on the activities of the Social Committee particularly in regard to hospital visiting. It was decided to convey to the Social Committee the thanks of the Executive for the valuable work being carried out. Two matters of Rehabilitation claims were referred to Mr Lenz for attention, to report to the next meeting.
