MR FRASER ABROAD

ACTIVITIES IN LONDON CABINET MEETING ATTENDED (Official News Service) (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 3. At Mr Attlee’s invitation Mr Fraser this morning attended a meeting of the British Cabinet. It was a particularly interesting meeting, for part of the business of the day was to receive a report from Viscount Montgomery on conditions in Germany. Mr Fraser also had a discussion with Mr Noel Baker, Minister of State, who was the principal United Kingdom delegate to the Preparatory Commission' of the United Nations, and will be one of the delegates to the General Assembly next week. Mr Fraser heard from him the British Government’s viewpoint on some of the matters with which the new organisation is immediately concerned. Later, Mr Fraser visited the House of Commons to meet Ministers and members of Parliament, Mr Fraser yesterday paid a call to New Zealand House to meet the members and staff, and thank them on behalf of the Government and people of New Zealand for their valuable work through the six years of war, and to wish them all success and happiness in the first year of peace. Informally visiting the New Zealand Fernleaf Club in Lowndes square, Mr Fraser met a number of Dominion servicemen and women rwid had lunch with General and Lady Freyberg.
