WINNING THE PEACE
MR CHURCHILL’S VIEWS CHARACTER AND HARD WORK (Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 1. Mr Churchilll,- in a New Year message to the Primrose League, said the British purchased victory by the greatness of their nature and their own unflinching efforts, but in the moment of triumph, beguiled by false prophets, they now stood in danger of losing some of the fruits of the victory for which they had paid so much. “We can only win the peace as we won the war, by character and hard work. There is no easy path to prosperity. ‘Empire and liberty’ still remains the which leads us on.”
