BOYCOTT OF JEWS

TOTAL ECONOMIC BLOCKADE ARAB LEAGUE’S PLAN (Rec. 8 p.m.) CAIRO, Dec. 30. Saudi Arabia has informed the Arab League that the importation of Zionist goods is prohibited by royal decree from December 28, in accordance with the league’s decision. A Jerusalem message on December 16 quoted the Observer’s correspondent as stating'that the Arab League had completed plans for the total economic blockade of Palestine Jews in the greatest boycott since sanctions were applied against Italy. The object of the boycott was to destroy Jewish economic capacity in Palestine and make further Jewish immigration impossible. The boycott would begin on January 1. The Arab leader in Palestine, Auni Bey Abdul Hadi, told the correspondent that all member States in the Arab League would stop granting import licences to goods from Jewish Palestine, would inflict heavy punishments for infringements of the boycott, and would open a special fund to assist Arab industries in Palestine to develop competition with the Jews. They were also refusing visas to all Jews to travel to Arab countries as visitors or in transit.
