GORE FLAX FACTORY
The Gore linen flax factory, which has served the needs of the district for four years, has, ceased operations. The building will now be used as a plant research station by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. A few members of the staff will be engaged by the department, the others being employed in dismantling machinery. The processing of the straw remaining at the factory will be carried out at the Winton plant.
