STRONGER RAYON
A BRITISH PRODUCT LONDON, Dec. 29. Britain has produced a stronger artificial textile fibre than nylon, according to Professor W. T. Astbury, head of the textile physics laboratory of Leeds University. He said the new material, which a firm called British Celanese Limited is producing, is called fortisan. It is the strongest rayon yet made and has already been used for parachute fabric and glider tow ropes.
