FAIR AND WARMER Forecast for Otago.—The following offl« cial weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 9 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— , .' Situation.—An. anti-cyclone is centred in the North Tasman, and pres- < sure is low to the south and east of the Dominion. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mod-erate, but freshening, north-westerly winds; weather fair and warmer, but scattered rain developing later in the western high country. Further Outlook.—A brief period of showers to-night. Weather in Dunedin.—The weather in Dunedin yesterday was overcast anil there were several light showers, though the temperatures remained mild. There was a light south-westerly wind. The barometer was steady throughout the day, the reading at midnight being 29.861 n (1011 millibars).
