JUMPING AT SHOWS
Sir,—Further to your correspondents, “ Not Wondering ” and " Horse Sense,” I am convinced that at the Taieri Show Viking, the piebald, was definitely defeated in both the last jumping events. He was also just given the red ticket, as it were, in the big jump at Balclutha. I admit that Viking is a good jumper, but it is a pity that judges do not realise that he has his off days, and that there are equally as high class jumpers at shows, despite their apparent misfortune at not being blessed with an unusual coat. After all, competitions are held for sport.—l am, etc.. Let the Best Win. Dunedin.
