PERSONAL
The Minister of Finance, Mr W. Nash, has appointed Mr H. R. H. Chalmers to the board of directors of the Bank of New Zealand, and Mr A. T. Donnelly as chairman of the board. Advice has been received that Flying Officer William K. Paterson, of Heriot, who recently returned from overseas, has been awarded the D.F.C. Passengers who left for the north by air on Saturday were:—Mr S. Foster for Christchurch; Mrs W, Gregory, Dr E. Gregory for Nelson; Mr L. Bullock, Miss E. Todd, and Miss J. Todd for Wellington; Miss P. Ledgerwood, Mrs J. Wayte and Miss M. Woods for Auckland.
