SCATTERED SHOWERS Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 9 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—There is a depression to the south-east and an anti-cyclone over the Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mode-rate south-westerlies predominating inland, with fair weather; fresh but decreasing south-west erlies on the coast, with scattered but decreasing showers; temperatures rather cold. Further' Outlook.—Fair. Weather in Dunedin.—The weather in Dunedin yesterday was again mainly overcast with occasional showers, though there was a short period of sunshine in the morning. There was a light breeze from the south-west. The barometer commenced to rise after mid-day, >. the .midnight reading being 29.97 inches (1015 millibars).
