STRAND THEATRE
Paramount’s latest romantic thriller, “Double Express,” with Nancy Kelly, Chester Morris, and Charlie Arnt in the starring roles, is the chief attraction in the new double-feature programme shown at the Strand Theatre yesterday. Nancy, a news photographer, uses tricks strictly feminine to obtain a job in one of the town s biggest pictorial magazines, and winds up with the editor's heart in the palm of her hand and her heart m the lap of the law. The plot is excellent, with Chester Morris fighting for Nancy s freedom and for her love, and Charlie Arnt sidling through the scenes with the smoothest of comedy banter. The supporting film is a thrilling story of army engineers, ‘‘Men of the Deep, with Chester Morris and Victor McLaglen in the principal roles.
