WEST HARBOUR BOROUGH
MONTHLY MEETING OF COUNCIL
The monthly meeting of the West Harbour Borough Council was held last night and was attended by the Mayor (Mr E. J. Tiivlor) and Crs T. R. Bradshaw, J. R. Murdoch, A. Cleveland. P. C. Rutherford, H. C. Tobin, J. HillScujlv, A. R. McEwan. and J. C. Mitchell. Accounts amounting to £450 were passed for payment. The Finance Committee reported a debit bapk balance at September 30 of £3143. A letter was received from Mr H, T. Norrie applying for permission to erect an army hut on his section. The hut, it was stated, would eventually be used as a tool shed, but until the applicant's house was built he would use it as a dwelling.—Cr Hill-Scully opposed the application, saying that a building of this sort could be used for many purposes, thus conflicting with the by-laws. He was opposed to the practice of an army hut being used as a dwelling.—Cr Tobin moved that permission be granted.—The motion was seconded by Cr Mitchell and carried by six votes to two.
