FOREST PRODUCTS
INCREASE IN NET PROFIT (Special) AUCKLAND, Sept. 25. A net profit of £22,557. an increase of £12.041, is shown in the accounts of New Zealand Forest Products, Ltd., for the year ended March 31. The amount is struck after providing £65,000 for taxation, compared with £26.000 in the previous year. After providing for a debit of £2515 in the profit and loss appropriation account, there is a credit of £20,042 to be carried forward. The profit on manufacturing operations was £106.256, against £51,679. The directors report substantial progress and an increased demand for the company's products in both the domestic and export markets. A definite advance has been made toward the establishment of a kraft pulp and paper mill and its associated sawmills, and tests of the company's logs are being made in the United States in the manufacture of kraft pulp and paper multi-walled bags. To obtain first-hand knowledge on those projects, Mr D. Henrv, chairman and managing director, Mr M. R. Bucket, logging and milling manager, and Mr A. W. Mackrey, chief chemist, have gone overseas.
