Jottings A two-year-old sister to Gold Sheik has been named Sahara Queen, The Auckland Trotting Club will include a £2OOO stake on its October programme. South Island horses and reinsmen captured a good slice of the stakes at the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting. The death is reported of Kid Logan, who took a record of 2min 8 2-ssec. She failed to produce anything of note at the stud. Ashburton Winner Sunny Nelson, a good winner at Ashburton, was got by Nelson Derby from Irish Peach, by Guy Parrish—Orange Pippin, by Jingle—Atalanta, by Quincey. 3 Open to Abuse ” A suggestion that licensed trainers should be given a badge of admittance to any meeting did not find favour at a meeting of the New Zealand Owners and Breeders’ Association. It was held that the use of the badge might be open to abuse. The misuse of a badge could be stopped by the cancellation of a licence or a fine. The suggestion that a privilege might be abused does not redound to the credit of the members.
