SITTING OF OTAGO COMMITTEE A sitting of the Otago Land Sales Committee—Messrs E. J. Anderson (chairman) and D. J. Ross —was held yesterday. An application for the transfer of allotment 35, township of Cranston, from Joseph Tomkins to John Stephen Norwood, at £IBSO, was opposed by the Crown representative, Mr J. R. Hampton, on the grounds of excessive price. Mr Hampton said the property was bought for £1590 in 1942, and since then nothing had been done to the house except that it had been kept in good order. Two recent valuations placed the value of the property at £1630 and £I6OO respectively. After hearing evidence the committee reserved its decision. John Ernest Holloway to Eliezer Ernest Edmonds, lot 8, part section 117, North-East Valley district; price £I3OO (granted at £llBO by consent).
