ACCIDENT CASES

HOSPITAL KEPT BUSY MANY OF MINOR NATURE Members of the St. John Ambulance and the Dunedin Hospital staff had little opportunity for joining in the celebrations yesterday, as from early in the afternoon until a late hour they were kept hard at work attending casualty cases. A number of persons received fairly serious injuries, and in addition there were many cases of collapse and minor injuries which did not necessitate admission to the Hospital. Peter L. Chappell, a student, aged 24, residing at 7 Rutland street, while riding his motor cycle in King Edward street, South Dunedin, at 7.15 p.m., collided with Alfred Edward Coster, of 59 Grosvenor street, Kensington. Both were taken to the Dunedin Hospital, Chappell suffering from a broken leg and Coster from injuries to his head, face, and back. Both are reported to be making satisfactory progress. Cohn Eckhold was admitted to Hospital at 8.15 p.m. in an unconscious condition. It is stated that he was involved in a fracas at the railway bus

terminus, Queen’s Gardens.
