STOCK EXCHANGE TRIBUTE
TRIUMPH OF FREE PEOPLES “We have seen Britain and her Empire emerge victorious from a world war on two occasions within our generation, and let us pray that war shall not happen again,” c;'.d Mr W. S. Dawson, chairman of tue Dunedin Stock Exchange, at the conclusion of the morning call yesterday. “We can thank all the free peoples of the world as well as our service personnel and the scientists for this delivery from our enemies.” Mr Dawson commended the action of the New Zealand Insurance Company, Ltd., in its decision to pay a bonus dividend to commemorate the cessation of hostilities. He expressed the hope that other wealthy companies which had husbanded their resources would follow this example.
