AN HONOURS LIST

TWO NEW VISCOUNTS RUGBY, June 6. The honours list on the occasion of the dissolution of Parliament, published to-night, gives distinctions gained for political and public services. The names include two viscounts —Baron Addison, leader of the Labour Party in the Hoyse of Lords, and the RightHon. George Lambert, who represented South Molton from 1891 to 1942.

The new baronets include Sir Reginald Blair, Mr Alexander ArskineHill, Sir Ernest Shepperson, and Sir Robert Workam Smith. There are five new knights, including Mr David Owen Evans, and three knight commanders of the British Empire—Wing Commander Archibald James, Captain Peter Drummond, and the Right Hon. Ben Smith. Mr C. R. Attlee and Mr Arthur Greenwood become Companions of Honour.
