GRANT FROM GOVERNMENT 5 (P.A.) AUCKLAND, May 24. The Auckland RS.A. has been notified by the Acting Prime Minister, Mr W. Nash, that the Government has made a grant of £6OOO towards the cost„ v of the purchase, alterations and fur-« nishinss of its new premises.'"-’ 1 " Z A six-storey building was purchased some time ago in the heart of the city £ for £31.000. and, following a successful queen carnival, the building is now ■ free of debt. The association plans further extensive alterations with a view to providing club facilities additional to the cafeteria and billiard rooms at present available. The association hopes to secure a charter for the sup- - ; plv of liquor.
