FUTURE OF BRITISH ' MINES UNION PRESIDENT’S VIEWS (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON. May 23. The mine workers’ president, Mr Will Lawther, speaking at the Labour Party’s conference at Blackpool, said the mining industry could not last a single moment longer under the present form of ownership. The only alternative to public ownership was chaos and confusion.
