Ministerial The Minister of Health (Mr A. H. Nordmeyer) arrived in Dunedin yesterday to attend a conference on the treatment of tuberculosis.
Mr W. J. Blackler, clerk of the court at Dunedin, has been appointed clerk of the court at Christchurch. He will be succeeded by Mr A. Whitaker, registrar and clerk of the court at Masterton. At the annual meeting of the Otago branch of the South African War Veterans’ Association last night it was unanimously decided to elect Mr William Dunne a life member in recognition of his valuable services to the association over a long period. ' Passengers who left for the north by the airliner yesterday were Mr J. H. Maples and Miss I. Webster for Christchurch, Lieutenant-colonel Roberts, Mr F. Shaw, Mr S. Greenbie Mr White. Mr A. Steel and Mrs F. Brown for Wellington, Mr A. Allan for Palmerston North, and Mr J. R. Greenfield for Auckland. Passengers who arrived by the afternoon plane were Mr R. Bathurst. Mr M. Blair, and Mr H. L. Longbottom from Auckland, Miss W Dixon. Mr F. Garlick, Miss F. Mclnnes and Mr D. T. A. Burt from Wellington, Mr and Mrs Winter, and Mr L. McEntee from Christchurch.
