MAGISTRATE’S COURT
Tuesday, May 22. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew. S.M.)
Judgment Summons T. W. Dobbie proceeded against A. J. Curline for the recovery of an amount paid by the plaintiff to Messrs Arthur Barnett. Ltd., for the defendant, at his request, on May 29, 1943. There was no appearance of the defendant, who was ordered to pay the balance of the amount due. £5 4s, with costs (10s), in default six days in the Dunedin prison. Order for Possession Alexander Slrathdee (the Public Trustee) claimed from Philip Geoffrey Brodie and Mary Sarah Brodie possession of a dwelling situated at 77 Russell street, Dunedin, and let by the plaintiff to the defendants at a weekly tenancy of £1 ss. The plaintiff claimed £l9, the balance of rent due up to April 20, 1945, and also mesne profits at the rate of £1 5s a week from April 20. An order was made for possession on or before June 5, 1945, and judgment was entered for the plaintiff for £24, with costs (£4 10s 6d).
