HUMAN BLOOD BOWSER

(0.C.) SYDNEY. May 8. In the last 32 months John Wiltshire, aged 63. of Sydney, has given 41 pints of blood to the Red Cross blood bank. Known as the “ Human Blood Bowser.” Wiltshire has been retired from the list of donors, but says he will be available at any time for an emergency transfusion. Wiltshire says: '“To retire me is ridiculous. I feel as fit as ever, and I am still able to carry on as a blood donor. I can still run like a hare.” He attributes his astonishing blood supply to a diet of sarsparilla and stewed rhubarb. Once he donated a pint and a-haif of blood in seven minutes and a-half, which he claims is a world’s record. He had given as much as three pints in a fortnight, and resumed his carrying job after each donation.
