LABOUR PARTY POLICY
Sir, —We have heard a lot lately about the Government buying out the shareholders in the Bank of New Zealand, and we have the assurance of Mr Nash that none of the present loan is to be used for that purpose. There is, however, one other aspect which has so far escaped the notice of your correspondents. I would venture a guess that fully 95 per cent, of the bank’s customers are supporters of the National Party, and a transference to the other banks will eventuate. Consequently the bank will have to close its doors. Just the bursting of another Labour bubble! Six months ago we were told by Mr Webb that in three weeks coal would be coming out in abundance. What has happened? When Labour secured power we were told that good houses would be built for £6OO and let to the workers at from 10s to 12s per week. What has happened? It Is high time we pulled the wool from our eyes.—l am, etc.. Sick. May 21.
