BALCLUTHA
Rugby Football.—A last-minute default by Toko gave Clutha a win in the Senior Competition on Saturday afternoon. The Third Grade match" between Clutha and South Otago High School was postponed owing to the state of the ground. Hockey.—The Informal match to have been played at Balclutha on Saturday was postponed owing to the weather. Competition games will commence next Saturday, when Bruce will play Milton, at Milton, and Clutha will play Lawrence at Lawrence. Owaka has drawn the bye. National Party Centre.—The opening of the National Party’s office in Clyde street. Balclutha, was held on Friday afternoon. Mr J. A. Roy, M.P., said it would be of great assistance to him in the execution of his electoral duties. Previously, he had had to use his car as an office, but in future he wduld be able to discuss matters with his electors in the new office, which would be open every Friday. Labour Party.—The Clutha branch of the Labour Party held a meeting on Saturday evening. There was a fair attendance of members.
