SITTING OF COMMITTEE MANY APPLICATIONS OPPOSED A sitting of the Otago Land Sales Committee —Messrs E. J. Anderson (chairman), D. J. Ross, and R. Walls — was held yesterday to deal with applications for the transfer of properties. Mr W. L. Miller represented the Crown. Of a total of 60 applications before the committee, the Crown opposed 20, which were adjourned for hearing, and in 15 of the remainder reductions in price totalling £1155 were made. The following applications in which the transactions involved £IOOO or more, were granted:— Edith Anne Howes to Alan Winstanley Wilkin, allotment 96, township of Sunshine; price £ISOO (reduced to £1475 by consent).
