DELIVERY OF PETROL
APPLICATION REFUSED OIL COMPANY’S DUBIOUS METHODS (PA.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 22. “This strangely unusual attitude by such a powerful concern has caused me to form the opinion that it did not intend to spend much time in giving details to the licensing authority, but preferred to use all the influence possible somewhere else. This highly improper procedure has caused a delay in announcing this decision. I had to make my own investigations. These comments were made by the No. 3 Transport Licensing Authority, Mr T. H. Langford, in his decision refusing an application by the Shell Oil Company. New Zealand, Ltd., to operate a vehicle within a 30-mile radius of Greymouth for delivery of motor spirits in bulk. The case was heard at Greymouth on February 22 last.
