FIRE BRIGADE CALLS
Rain water leaking through the roof of the Shaw, Savill store in Anzac avenue on Saturday caused the automatic fire alarm to operate on two occasions, the City Fire Brigade being called at 1.5 p.m. and again at 11.16 p.m. Chimney fires in Vogel street and Carroll street were attended to at 7.49 p.m. on Saturday and at 9.5 a.m. yesterday respectively, and at 10.55 a.m. yesterday the brigade was called to the pumping station in Quarry street, Musselburgh where slight damage was done to the roof through the overheating of an exhaust pipe.
