IMPORTS OF BICYCLES

ALLOCATIONS INCREASED Inclusive of import licences already granted, licences will be granted for the importation from the United Kingdom of bicycles and similar vehicles, excluding tricycles, etc., to the extent of 175 per cent, of the amounts of licences granted for imperts of similar goods from the same source in 1941. This advice has been issued by the Customs Department. The allocation for imports of fittings for bicycles, namely, spokes in the rough, etc., has been increased frem 75 per cent, to 100 per cent., and allocations for hubs, spindles, etc., have been raised from 50 to 100 per cent, on the same basis. Licences issued for the import of metal fittings, including frames for trunks, etc., from the United Kingdom are also being made available for imports of these goods from Australia.
