DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE

No Bales were made or reported on the Dunedin Stock Exchange yesterday. Bank of New Zealands were sought at £2 8s 3d, with sellers asking £2 8s Bd, and the long D issue was wanted at £1 7s 6d. National Insurances were inquired for at £1 4s 3d, with sellers asking 6d more, and Standards were offered at £4, but no buyer advanced a bid above £3 19s. Union Steams were sought alter at £1 Us, and Southland Frozen Meats had an inquiry at £2 12s, but there was no response from sellers. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile (ord.) were quoted at £57 and £66, New Zealand Breweries at £2 4s 3d and £2 ss, Dunedin Breweries at £1 8s 6d and £1 10s 6d, and Westport Coals at £1 9s 3d and £1 10s 6d—buyers and sellers respectively. Bruce Woollens (ord.) were quoted at £1 13s Gd (buyer) and £1 14s 3d (seller), and the preference issue were wanted at £1 7s 3d. British Tobaccos were sought at £2 9s 6d, Broken Hill Proprietaries at £2 4s 3d. Brown, Ewings (ord.) at £1 2s 6d, and Charles Begg’s at £1 9s. Claude Neon (N.Z.) shares were quoted at £1 14s 6d and £1 15s Gd, Dominion Fertilisers at £1 4s and £1 5s Gd, and New Zealand Drugs (£2 paid) at £4 18s and £s—buyers and sellers. Otago Daily Times had selleis at £2 11s, with buyers offering £2 Bs, and New Zealand Paper Mills were on offer tf at £2 Os 9d. Woolworths (N.Z., ord.) were quoted at £1 2s Gd and £1 3s, and Woolworihs (Sydney) at £1 Is 5d and £1 2s. Mount Morgans were sought at 6s 3d, with sellers asking 6s 9d. New Broken Hill Consolidated were wanted at 16s 9d and North Broken Hill at £2 12s. but no sellers were attracted.
