FAIR AND MILD Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation. —Pressure is high across the north Tasman, and a series of westerly depressions is passing in the south. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—North-erly to north-westerly winds, soon freshening; weather fair and mild. Further Outlook.—Changeable westerly conditions. Weather in Dunedin.—Yesterday wai warm and sunny, but a moderately strong wind from the north-west made conditions a little unpleasant. The barometer, which remained steady for the greater part of the day, showed a rising tendency late in the evening, the midnight reading being 29.73 in (1007 millibars).
