POWER INTERRUPTION

AUCKLAND PROVINCE (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Mar. 26. The whole of the Auckland province was without electric power for 22 minutes late this afternoon. The cause of the fault was a gorse fire under one of the main transmission lines between Arapuni and Penrose. The break in the supply came at an awkward time for city tram travellers, and the safety zones and pavements were crowded with workers until about six o’clock. Inconvenience was also caused to hundreds of dairy farmers throughout the province who use electric power for their milking machines.
