LABOUR’S VIEWPOINT NO AGREEMENT WITH CONSERVATIVES (Rec. 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, Mar. 24. “It is perfectly clear there is not an adequate field of agreement on the economic and industrial issues between the Conservatives and the Labour Party,” said Mr Herbert Morrison in a speech at the Labour Party conference. “We do not agree on the supervision and monopolies and economic control to prevent inflation. The issue must be fought out at the polls. The people must decide whether they are going forward to economic looseness and even anarchy or whether there is going to be a settled state of affairs.”

Mr Morrison declared that Labour would fight the election as an independent party.
