BRIDGEHEADS LINKED

TANKS AND ARTILLERY OVER LONDON, (Rec. 1.15 a.m.) Mar. 25. The latest reports from Field Marshal Montgomery’s headquarters state that the British and American bridgeheads across the Rhine at Wesel have been linked up into a continuous bridgehead 30 miles long and, at some points, seven miles deep. Bridges have been thrown over the river and tanks and artillery are oh the east bank. British troops are in firm contact with the airborne forces which landed right in the middle of the enemy’s defence positions.
