TRANSPORT STRIKE

SYDNEY’S TRAMS AND BUSES

(Rec. 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Mar. 23. There will be no trams or buses in Sydney or Newcastle 10-morrow. A mass meeting of men in Sydney to-day refused to rescind last Sunday’s strike decision. This means that there will be no trams or buses in either city after all night services are completed early to-morrow morning until ifie first tram dnd bus on Sunday morning. Most of the sporting bodies have decided to carry on. A motion to rescind the strike decision was defeated by 482 to 412 after B discussion lasting more than two hours. To-day's decision may be the forerunner of similar hold-ups every time there is racing at Randwick.
