P.W.M.U.

A very successful market and concert in aid of mission funds were held on Thursday afternoon and evening. At tile market, £74 8s was raised, with further returns still to come forward. Items were contributed by Mesdames Paterson and Martyn , . The concert at night proved one of the most successful held by the P.W.M.U. There was a large audience, and the following contributed to the programme: Mesdames Ovens, McCallum, Lennon, Miss L. McDonald, the Rev. A. Marshall. Messrs Stan. Kinder, Denholm, and J. Mayfield. A play, “ Tangled Skeins,” was presented by the Oamaru- Drama Club, and several items were also given by Waitaki Girls High School pupils. Mrs Hay (president) thanked those who had helped to make the market a success, and also thanked the performers for the enjoyable concert.
