FAIR AND MILD Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 pm. vesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—There is a deep depression south of the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Fresh to strong winds from a westerly quarter; weather fair, with moderate temperatures. Further Outlook.—Occasional periods of showers. Weather in Dunedin.—The weather yesterday was fine and sunny, but heavy showers began-, to fall to the . evening. There was a strong wind from the west. The barometer fell rapidly during the day. but showed a rising tendency in the evening the midnight reading being 29.62 inches (1002 millbars).
