DEATH OF STEVE DONOGHUE (Roc. 1 a.m.) LONDON, Mar. 23. The death has occurred, after an illness of 24 hours, of Steve Donoghue, the jockey. He consulted a doctor regarding his heart last Tuesday, and was to have entered a London nursing

home to-day for several weeks of complete rest. He suffered a heart attack early this morning, from which he died in a few minutes.

. Donoghue was 61 years of age, and during a long and successful association with the turf rode winners of all the principal events in Britain and on the Continent. Among his successes were six wins in the Derby with Pommern, Gay Crusader, Humorist, Captain Cuttle, Papyrus, and Manna. He also won the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Ascot in six consecutive years on Brown Jack, a horse witn which he also scored many other successes.
