MISSING ON OPERATIONS
Acting Flight Lieutenant George Stanley Davies, the youngest son of Mr and Mrs O. V. Davies, Tolcarne avenue, Maori Hill, who has been reported missing on air operations, was educated at the Maori Hill and Timaru Boys’ High Schools, and
was employed by the National Insurance Company before enlisting in 1942. He spent some time on aerodrome defence before gaining his “wings” in Canada in October, 1943. He received his commission In November, 1944, and earned rapid promotion in the bomber squadron to which he was attached. He is 21 years of age. .
