•Acceptances for the Riverton meeting are due to-day. The stallion Kinnoull has been sold, and will go to the Waikato district. The services of apprentice riders will probably be. in demand for the Waimate meeting.

The Judicial Committee of the Ohinemuri Jockey Club was active in Paeroa on Saturday last, and as a result two jockeys were penalised. F. Cleaver, (he rider of Etaro in the McGuire Steeplechase, was suspended for a month for interference with Skyette. B. Markwick, the rider of Olga's Pal in the Ohinemuri Cup, was also suspended for a month for interference with Tavernsid.e. The Oamaru Jockey Club’s winter programme will include a steeplechase for hacks and hunters. The Waimate Cup is worth £2OO, plus a trophy valued at £5, and so the apprentice allowance can be claimed. Fairy Bard and Royal Writ met at the minimum in the Oamaru Cup, and at a high scale of weights at Waimate a margin of 21b has been made. At Oamaru Fairy Bard played up at the start and waS badly left. It is pleasing to note that the Oamaru Jockey Club's meeting, which was held in the face of transport difficulties, resulted in a small profit. It has been decided that the winter programme will be the same as that of 1943, with the Winter Cup carrying a stake of £SOO. ' Sing Sing beat Monetary at Wyndham when in receipt of 131 b. Sing Sing afterwards won in a good field at Trentham, and at a difference of 61b holds a fair chance of beating Monetary again. Sing Sing is, however, at times a bit slow from the barrier, but will be running in a small field at Waimate. It is reported that Master Baron gave an inglorious display a* -.Westport on Saturday, compared with bis first day s performance, and actually finished last. An inquiry was held into the handling of Master Baron, and the bald informa tion “No action was taken, was sup plied to the public. Surely the public is entitled to some information a b ° u * apparent reversal of form ;. and affairs is most unsatisfactory, ana should not be sanctioned by those in authority.
