ECONOMIC PACT
FRANCE AND LOW COUNTRIES PARIS, Mar. 20. Following conferences between General de Gaulle and M. van KUffens an economic pact between France, Belgium, and Luxemburg has been signed. The signatories were: M. Bidault (for France), M. Jules Guillaume (Belgian Ambassador), M. Gerard Boissevain (Dutch Charge d’Affaires), and M. Antoine Funk (Luxemburg Minister in Paris).
The four countries pledged themselves to mutual aid in post-war reconstruction. The agreement provides for mutual assistance in supplies of food and essential raw materials, and also provides for co-ordination in existing production, transport, and harbour facilities. A special council for economic co-operation will be formed, with a permanent secretariat as a liaison between the council and economic experts.
