MAN WOUNDED
INCIDENT AT ROXBURGH SERIOUS CHARGE HEARD Arising out of an incident at Roxburgh on the night of Friday, March 2, when a man received a slight gunshot wound, Maximilian Harliwich, a lorry driver, appeared on remand before Mr A. E. Dobbie, S.M., in the Roxburgh Magistrate's Court yesterday. He was charged with having discharged a shotgun at J. Williamson with intent to do him grievous bodily harm. The accused had previously appeared before Messrs G. N. Jeffery and J. H. Waigth, justices of the peace, and had been remanded. When the case came before the magistrate yesterday, Mr O. G. Stevens appeared for the accused, and the police were represented by Chief Detective T. Y. Hall, of Dunedin. The hearing of evidence from nine witnesses commenced at 1 p.m., and was not concluded until 9.30 p.m. The accused was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, bail being allowed in his own recognisance of £IOO and one surety of £IOO. '
